Clevedon
Clevedon is a Victorian seaside town whose name derives from the Saxon, 'Cleve' meaning Cleave or Cleft and 'don' meaning hill. The town sits amongst a group of small hills alongside the Bristol Channel and is approximately 15 minutes drive from Weston-super-Mare.
The population of Clevedon is approximately 23,000. Access to Bristol, Bath and Taunton is via Junction 20 of the M5 Motorway.
Attractions include the restored Grade I listed Pier dating from 1869 and is recognised as one of the finest in the Country. Clevedon Court lies at the other end of the town and is one of only a few remaining fourteenth century manorial halls in England, having been built by Sir John de Clevedon circa 1320.
Clevedon is fortunate to have two divergent shopping areas, the Triangle being a modern centre and Hill Road with a more independent feel to the shops, cafes and restaurants.
There are two health centres; cottage hospital, sports centre with swimming pool and nursery, playschools; Primary and Secondary schools, together with privately funded schools are all represented within Clevedon.
Clevedon benefits from a fusion of housing from the modern to period including both Victorian and Georgian properties with some enjoying wonderful views across the Bristol Channel. Clevedon has something for everyone, whether you are a first time buyer, a family or looking for retirement.
